Term Definition
Fence Net A large, thin open net.
Lining An extra layer of fabric sewn into the inside of a garment for added comfort, modesty and/or smoothness.
"Boob Out"  This term refers to styles that have very little or no coverage in the bust area. Open tip means that the nipple area is exposed. Boob out styles have only underwire for support, there is no fabric in the bust area. 
15 Denier Denier is a unit of measure that denotes the thickness of the fiber used in a garment. 15 denier fabric is very thin and transparent.
Adhesive Push Up Offers smooth styling and support under tight fitting or sheer garments. Has adhesive sides to provide backless, strapless support. 
Adjustable back The back has more than one set of eyelets for an adjustable fit.
Adjustable garters Adjustable (in length) elastic straps which attach to stockings to hold them up.
Adjustable shoulder straps Shoulder straps can be shortened or lengthened to provide the best fit.
Animal print A pattern printed onto fabric to resemble an animal, usually a leopard or tiger.
Attached garter belt Stockings which have a garter belt permanently attached.
Attached Sleeves Sleeves which are attached at only one point to the side of the garment. Usually seen on certain styles of bodystockings.
Baby Doll A garment usually consisting of formed cups with an attached, loose fitting skirt that falls anywhere between the belly button and the hips.
Baby Doll This style has cups that may be underwired with an attached loose fitting skirt that falls somewhere between the belly button and the hips. Many styles have "boob out" or "peek-a-boo" cups. Body Stocking Body hugging hosiery that covers the body from the neck to the toes. This style may have long sleeves, short sleeves or be sleeveless. 
Babydoll A sleeveless, loose fitting top or a bra with sheer material attached with lengths varying from just under the breasts to derriere . A babydoll usually comes with a matching G-string or panty.
Back seams Stockings with a seam running up the back of the leg for those that like a more old fashioned (and sexy) look.
Bandeau A fancy name for a bra.
Bell bottom Pant cuffs that flair out.
Bikini A low cut panty.
Bikini: This style rides below the belly button and has minimal back coverage. 
Black light glow Fabric glows under a blacklight.
Bloomers An old fashioned form of feminine underwear consisting of loose fitting trousers or shorts.
Boa A long scarf made of feathers.
Bodice That portion of the garment which covers the breasts. The upper part of a dress.
Bodystocking Snug fitting hosiery that offers coverage from the neck or upper body down to the ankles or toes.
Bodysuit Snug fitting one piece garment similar to a leotard.
Bolero coat A loose fitting, waist length coat/robe open at the front.
Boning Rigid supports sewn vertically into a bustier or corset that help to maintain a slim, shapely look about the torso. Originally made from bone (hence it's name), but now made of plastic.
Boxer briefs Snug fitting like briefs, but with a fuller cut and legs like boxers.
Boxers Loose fitting under shorts.
Boy shorts A panty style similar in shape to boy's underwear (but much more attractive!).
Bralette A sexy bra-like top that lacks the usual supportive features (such as underwires) of a real bra.
Bras Bras come in many styles:
Brazilian back A panty style that covers more of the buttocks than a thong, but less than a traditional full-back panty.
Briefs Short, snug fitting underwear with a full back.
Brocade Rich oriental fabric consisting of raised patterns, often in gold or silver.
Brushed back A material backing made from brushed cotton often used in pajamas to give a warm, flannel feel against the skin.
Burnout Alternating patterns of sheer and opaque fabric.
Bustier Similar to a corset but usually has defined bra cups and extends beneath the breasts to the waist to provide additional support, control and sex appeal Many have boning for support and fit and extends to about the waist and most have removable adjustable garter straps attached. 
Button front Garment buttons/unbuttons in the front.
   
Cami
Camisole A short top usually offering little support for the breasts.
Camisole or A short sleeveless undergarment for women, a short negligee. Sometimes worn as an outer garment (depending on the material) or under a suit jacket.
Camisole  A short top. The styles we offer most often come in sets with tap pants or panties. 
Camouflage A fabric pattern characterized by random patches of earth tones. While camouflage clothing is typically worn for concealment, wearing our camouflage items in public will hardly make you less noticeable!
Catsuits: Full-body length stretchy, skin-tight, sexy outfits. Some are very sheer . Some come with a pantyhose footing or stirrups
Chantilly lace Delicate lace made from an open, six-sided mesh background with floral designs.
Charmeuse An opaque (i.e., not see through), shiny fabric satin-like crepe
Cheek-a-boo A tongue-in-cheek (pun intended) term we made up to describe a skirt so short that the bottom of the buttocks may peek out below the hem line.
Chemise A loose-fitting dress hanging straight from the shoulders without a waist, typically with a short hemline. These can be worn with or without panties. Great for any type of figure!
Chenille Chenille fabric used in lingerie is an imitation of chenille yarn. The fabric has patterns of soft, protuding loops of fiber that look and feel similar to the chenille yarn used to make sweaters, throw pillows, blankets and other such items.
Chiffon A sheer, soft fabric, especially if made of silk .
Choker A snug fitting necklace.
Chopper bar lace An open net lace background that has been embroidered with a slightly raised, shiny pattern.
Cincher: An adjustable ‘back to waist’ lace-up tightly fitted top.
Clear straps Straps made from a clear, see-through plastic, that are designed to be nearly invisible when worn.
Contoured fit Garment is cut/sewn to the shape of the body or body part for a more comfortable fit.
Convertable Straps This versatile style lets you arrange the bra straps to suit your style. V-back, criss-cross, low back and more.
Corsage A floral fashion accessory.
Corset A snug fitting garment designed to cinch the waist and lift the breasts. Lacing in the back allows the corset to be adjusted for comfort.
Corset A close-fitting boned supporting undergarment that is often hooked and laced and that extends from above or beneath the bust or from the waist to below the hips and has garters attached. Ours are designed to cinch in your waist and give lift to the breasts. 
Cowl A loose, draped neckline.
Criss-cross straps Straps which cross in the back.
Crochet knit A large, open knit pattern that resembles crocheting.
Crop top A very short top extending to just below the breasts.
Crotchless A convenient slit or opening in the fabric covering the crotch area.
Cuban foot Hosiery with a contrasting colored sole (usually black) and tapered blocks at the ankle.
Demi Bra or These come across the breast just above the nipple, also know as a half bra. Demi's don't expose the nipple.
Demi Cup This style offers underwire support with a half cup coverage.
Demi cups Demi cups, or half cups, have a lower line which reveals more of the upper breasts.
Dot net Sheer net fabric decorated with evenly spaced opaque dots.
Dotted swiss Evenly spaced raised dots on sheer material.
Drawstring waist A string or strip of fabric sewn into the band which draws the waist up for a snug fit and is then tied into a bow.
Embroidery Decorative designs sewn into fabric by hand or machine.
Eyelash lace Lace garment with strands at the edges that resemble eyelashes.
Fascination lace Mesh lace with shiny embroidered floral pattern.
Faux fur Man made fur (i.e., not taken from animals)
Faux leather Imitation leather.
Faux pearls Imitation pearls
Faux Imitation, such as faux silk.
Feather A projecting strip, rib, fin, or flange.
Fiberfill Generic term for man-made fibers used as padding.
Fishnet Coarse, open mesh fabric noted for its sex appeal.
Fit and Flair A dress style characterized by a form fitting top which flairs out towards the hem line, often resulting in pleats (folds).
Flocking Decoration made from very short velvety fiber.
Flounce A piece of material gathered and attached at one side, such as a large ruffle.
Flutter A panty style with a strip of fabric around the sides that is elastic on top, but loose on the bottom.
Fly A convenience opening in the front of shorts or pants. Can be closed with a zipper, buttons or velcro, or it might just be an overlapping flap.
Foundation Garments  Garments that offer more support to the wearer. This includes long line bras, padded panties, gel filled bras, girdles and shape wear. 
French cut Pantyhose with sewn in decorative panty.
French net Very coarse, six sided open mesh fabric.
French Net An open-meshed fabric twisted, knotted, or woven together at regular intervals; a strong seam stitched on both sides of the fabric to enclose all raw edges
Fringe Decorative thin strips or strings, usually hanging from the hem line.
Full cups Cups which completely cradle and support the breasts as opposed to other cup styles which offer less coverage and support.
   
Garter An elastic leg band originally designed to hold up stockings but now just used for added sex appeal.
Garter Belt A belt worn around the waist with straps, called garters, that clasp onto stockings to keep them from falling down. Usually the back of the garter is adjustable to fit different waist sizes and the garter straps can be adjusted for length.
Garterbelt: A garment circling the hips, with straps to support a stocking.
Gartini A combination garter belt and panty.
Georgette Sheer crepe woven from hard-twisted yarns/threads to produce a dull pebbly surface.
Gown A long dress usually extending to the ankles.
G-String A panty consisting of a triangular patch of fabric connected with thin, elastic straps in back and around the waist completely exposing the buttocks.
G-string back Only a thin piece of elastic is used in the back and around the waist, exposing all of the buttocks.
G-String A panty made of a small piece of fabric for front coverage and attached with thin elasticized straps and the waist and back for most minimal coverage. Many of our styles have g-strings included.
Halter neck Garment wraps around the neck for support and, optionally, may be tied behind the neck (halter tie) or include a clasp (halter closure).
Halter top A short top held up at the neck usually exposing the shoulders and upper back.
His and hers Item includes something to wear for both the man and the woman.
Hook back Garment closes in back with one or more hooks.
Hook front Garment closes in front with one or more hooks.
Hook side(s) Garment closes at the side(s) with one or more hooks.
Hot Pants Very short pants.
Inner cap A lining inside of a wig that prevents tangling and if adjustable, allows the wig to fit virtually any size head.
Inner tie A hidden tie on the inside of a garment (usually a robe) to help keep it closed.
Iridescent Fabric which appears to change color or sparkle as it moves.
Jacquard Fabric characterized by an intricate weave or pattern. Originally named after French inventor Joseph-Marie Jacquard who invented a loom capable of producing this fabric.
Jacquard A fabric of intricate variegated weave or pattern
Keyhole An oval-shaped opening.
Kick pleat An inverted pleat, often used at the bottom of a skirt to give it more breadth.
Kimono A long robe with wide sleeves traditionally worn with a broad sash as an outer garment ; a loose dressing gown or jacket
Lace-up Back Garment laces up in the back for decoration and/or for an adjustable fit.
Lace-up Front Garment laces up in the front for decoration and/or for an adjustable fit.
Lace-up side Garment laces up the side for decoration and/or for an adjustable fit.
Leather Cowhide.

Lenzing Modal® Micro Modal® Micro is a trademarked microfiber from Lenzing (a textile company). The following is taken from the Lenzing web site: With Micro Modal, your favourite garments remain pleasantly soft and smooth. Even after many washing cycles. A feeling like "skin on skin". Because Micro Modal is especially smooth and natural. Ten thousand meters of this micro fiber weigh only one single gram. Micro Modal is substantially more delicate than cotton, wool and even silk. The smooth surface of Micro Modal prevents any deposits of lime and detergents. This is why fabrics remain brilliant in their colors and smooth - as they were on the very first day.
Lined crotch An extra panel of fabric sewn into the crotch for added comfort.
Lining An extra layer of fabric sewn into the inside of a garment for added comfort or modesty.
Long Line: A bustier that extends further down, usually to the hips. This style provides coverage to the waist. Styles can be strapless, underwired and many have boning for support.
Low rise Pants or panties which ride low on the hips instead of higher up at the waist.
Lurex® Fabric trademarked for its use of a metallic thread.
Lycra A spandex synthetic fiber. Lycra is very stretchy and is used in tight, body hugging garments like catsuits and sexy dresses.
   
Marabou: A soft feathery fluffy material prepared from turkey feathers or the coverts of marabous and used especially for trimming women's hats or clothes.
Mesh A knit or woven fabric consisting of small, evenly spaced holes.
Microfiber An extremely fine synthetic fiber usually woven into soft, light weight, washable, breathable fabrics.
Miniskirt A very short skirt with a hemline that can extend anywhere from just below the buttocks (micromini) to mid-thigh.
Muscle shirt A shirt with no sleeves.
Net A knit or woven fabric with an open-mesh pattern of evenly spaced holes.
Netting (Net) A net fabric to cover or enclose with
No fly No convenience opening in the front of shorts or pants.
Opaque Not see through. Semi-opaque is somewhere in between sheer (see through) and opaque. For example, stockings can look opaque until you stretch them over your leg, when due to the stretching, they become semi-opaque.
Open bust / tip Little or no coverage is provided over the breasts. In general, open bust means there is no cup whatsoever while open tip usually means there is a cup, but with an opening over the nipple area.
Open rear No fabric or elastic covers the area between the buttocks.
Over knee Stockings meant to rise up just over the knee. Shorter than standard thigh high stockings.
Padded Extra padding added on bottom and sides of each cup. This also helps achieve extra cleavage.
Padded cups Cups that contain padding, sometimes removable, for those with smaller breasts that might not otherwise fill out the cups.
Panne velvet Velvet which has been flattened in one direction.
Panties Panties come in many styles:
Panty Women's underpants.
Pantyhose Close fitting hosiery offering coverage from toes to waist.
Patent Leather with a hard smooth glossy surface.
Patent leather Real or synthetic leather with a smooth, shiny surface on one side.
Pecupsek-a-boo Cups with a slit or other opening that partially exposes the breasts or nipples.
Peek-a-boo cups Cups with a slit or other opening that partially exposes the breasts or nipples.
Peignoir From the French word which translates to "garment worn while combing the hair". A negligee or dressing gown.
Peignoir  A negligee or gown  Very popular as wedding night attire. 
Penne A silk or rayon velvet with lustrous pile flattened in one direction; a heavy silk or rayon satin with high luster and waxy smoothness
Piping A decorative cord sewn along the edges of a garment.
Plunge cups Cups that are cut to form a v-shape, thus revealing more cleavage than a bra with full cups.
Point d'esprit A type of fabric pattern that originated in France in the 1800's. It's characterized by a net fabric with individually spaced dots.
Polka Dot A fabric pattern characterized by evenly spaced dots throughout.
Poly A polymerized plastic or something made of this; especially : a polyester fiber, fabric, or garment
Pouch A man's g-string.
Princess line Visible seams which resemble an hourglass shape for a figure flattering look.
Princess Line Close-fitting and usually with gores (a tapering or triangular piece"as of cloth in a skirt") from neck to flaring hemline
Push Up Bra cups contain some type of padding, which may or may not be removable, used to create a more flattering cleavage or to add bust size.
Push-up cups Cups containing padding, sometimes removable, designed to push the breasts up to create a more flattering cleavage.
Rayon Any of a group of smooth textile fibers made from regenerated cellulose by extrusion through minute holes: a rayon yarn, thread, or fabric
Regal lace While it sounds like lace fit for a queen, in reality, this is just a particular pattern of lace that was arbitrarily given the name "Regal" by the fabric manufacturer.
Reinforced heel Hosiery with extra or heavier fabric in the heel to enhance durability.
Reinforced toe Hosiery with extra or heavier fabric in the toe to enhance durability.
Removable garters Elastic straps which attach to stockings to hold them up, but which can be removed if stockings won't be used.
Removable pads Pads which can be removed from the cups, if desired.
Rhinestones Simulated diamonds.
Ribbed Fabric with raised vertical 'ribs' usually made into form fitting designs
Rigid Does not stretch.
Robe A loose fitting coverup.
   
Sarong A loose garment made of a long strip of cloth wrapped around the body that is worn as a skirt or dress
Satin A particular type of shiny, woven fabric.
Satinella Suggestive of satin. Satinella is especially of a smooth lustrous appearance or sleekness to touch.
Scallop edges A decorative fabric edge shaped similar to a line of scallops (or shells) lined up edge to edge.
Seaming
Seamless An item manufactured without seams. Seams can be a source of discomfort, so a seamless item will tend to be more comfortable versus a similar item made with seams.
Sequins Small shiny discs used to reflect light and add interest to a garment.
Shawl A wide scarf worn about the shoulders.
Shelf Bra Comes below the breast to just under the nipple. It's usually supported and structured though the "boning" process which helps in uplifting the breasts for added cleavage.
Shelf cups Cups which only provide support and coverage underneath the breasts exposing the nipples.
Shelf Under breast support with underwire and fabric. Most of the breast is exposed. One of our most popular sellers!
Shirred Material which is gathered to make decorative folds
Silicone cups Cups which are padded with silicone instead of fiber. Silicone tends to provide a smoother, more natural look and a more comfortable fit.
Silk A natural fiber produced by silkworms that is revered for its luxuriously soft feel.
Silk Knit Silk fabric which stretches and clings to the body.
Skirtini A mini skirt with attached garters.
Sliding pouch The pouch slides along the waistband allowing it to be widened or narrowed for an adjustable fit.
Sling Straps attached to each end of a piece of material
Slinky Knit A soft, elastic knit fabric which conforms to the shape of the body.
Slit(s) A narrow vertical split in the fabric usually added for ease of movement or sex appeal.
Snap Crotch Crotch snaps/unsnaps for convenience.
Spandex/Lycra Spandex is the generic term for fabric created from elastic thread which helps a garment to stretch for a better fit and added comfort. Lycra is a well known brand of spandex.
Spandex Any of various elastic (stretchy) textile fibers made chiefly of polyurethane; also : clothing made of this material.
Spiral wire cups Bendable wire in a spiral shape used to make a skimpy bra cup. The spiral can be pulled out, pushed in or otherwise bent to accomodate the shape of the breast.
Stay up Stockings with a rubber grip inside the top that helps to prevent them from slipping down the leg.
Stockings Hosiery providing coverage from over the knee or mid-thigh to the toes. Almost all modern stockings stretch and can be worn without a garter belt, but because the stockings may still slip down the leg, a garter belt will ensure they stay up and add a sexy touch to your outfit.
Strapless A garment without shoulder straps.
Stretch lace Lace which stretches (providing a better fit and more comfort).
Surplice Meaning a loose fit.
Suspender style Stockings, pantyhose or bodystocking where the legs are held up by an attached waist band, sometimes styled to look like a garter belt. The front and back are usually open, so some may prefer to wear a g-string or thong under or on top (more convenient) of the hosiery.
Taffeta A crisp plain-woven lustrous fabric.
Tailored Styled to look as if custom made by a tailor.
Tank top A sleeveless shirt.
Tap pant Pants with a slightly gathered, elasticized waistband and very short, loose-fitting legs.
Tap Pants Very feminine boxer shorts. Materials are usually soft, silky and/or sheer.
Tapestry Rich looking fabric similar in appearance to the heavy, handwoven designs used in making curtains and upholstery.
Teddiette  Similar to the teddy style but with attached garters and usually a bit more lace and bow trim. 
Teddy  A close fitting one piece garment. Most of our styles have high cut legs and thong backs.  
Thong back Only a thin strip of material is used in the back exposing most of the buttocks.
Thong panty A panty with only a thin strip of material in the back that exposes most of the buttocks.
Thong A panty with a small strip or band of fabric in the back. Thongs have more material in the back than a G-string.
Thong The buttocks are exposed in this style. Many people love wearing this type of panty because it causes no panty lines.
Tie back Garment ties/unties in the back.
Tie belt A strip of fabric used to keep a robe closed.
Tie front Garment ties/unties in the front.
Tie side(s) Garment ties/unties at the side(s).
Tricot Plain, close warp-knitted (produced by machine with the yarns running in a lengthwise direction) nylon fabric.
Tube top A strapless, body hugging top made from a rectangular piece of fabric.
Ultrasuede® A trademarked soft, man-made suede fabric noted for its durability, washability and comfort. For more about this fabric, see http://www.ultrasuede.com.
Underwire A strip of flatted steel-wire ( or other man-made material) placed under the cups of the bra (sewn into the material) for added support.
Underwired Adds extra support and lift for the breasts using a thin wire sewn into the base of the cups. Especially desirable feature for larger breasted women.
Vamp The part of a shoe upper or boot upper covering especially the forepart of the foot and sometimes also extending forward over the toe or backward to the back seam of the upper.
Veil A decorative headdress worn by brides.
Velcro side(s) Garment attaches at the sides using Velcro allowing quick removal.
Velvet Fabric with a short, soft, dense pile noted for its luxurious feel.
Venice lace Firm, heavy lace with an open background, usually in floral leaf patterns.
Vest A sleeveless, waist length coat usually meant to be worn over a shirt or blouse.
Vinyl A man-made, non-elastic, non-breathing plastic material that has a wet look and is often used in fetish wear.
Waist cincher A form fitting garment worn around the waist to help control and smooth your mid-section. Often includes garter straps to hold up stockings.
Wristlet A decorative, elastic band worn around the wrists.
Zipper front Garment closes/opens in the front with a zipper.
